Anecdote

 

 

A very nice customer who was on holiday with his wife came at the cooperative winery.

 

A shopkeeper of Saint-Père sent them to the co-op but the clients didn't know our wines. Then, I explained our different products, vintages but forgot to introduce the Melon.

 

Afterwards, the client explained that the shopkeeper indicated we were Melon producers, and because of that his wife was staying in the car telling him to buy one Melon.

 

After a short silence, I answered him amused that in the cellar the Melon was a grape-variety and thus a wine. My answer made him laught, and in order to make a joke to his wife, he actually left with…a Melon!

With our guide, a great wine enthusiast and state-certified cycling instructor, you will set off on a secure and adapted circuit to spend unforgettable moments rich in discoveries in our vineyard. You will discover all the magic of the hilly landscapes of Vézelien and will cross several typical villages including that of Vézelay, perched on its eternal hill and classified among the most beautiful villages in France.

Also discover the work of our winegrowers and learn how to taste one of our wines, in one of our plots. Then to end the ride in style, we will show you around and taste our other cuvées as well as our Ratafia at the cellar of the winegrowers of the Eternal Hill.

Duration: about 3h

9 Winegrowers

The work of the new winegrowers was crowned with success in 1985 with the agreement of the INAO concerning the Burgundy appellation for the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties over a geographical area of ​​330 ha, spread over 4 communes: Saint Père, Asquins, Tharoiseau and Vézelay.

 

In 1997, wines made from the Chardonnay grape variety received the regional appellation Bourgogne Vézelay, then after twenty years of additional efforts, since the 2017 vintage we obtained the village appellation "Vézelay".

 

The 9 Vignerons de la Colline Eternelle cultivate an area of ​​30 ha.

 

Our white wines express the reflection of the subtle minerality of our geology and reign supreme since they represent more than half of our production with 80% from the Chardonnay grape variety and 5% from the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety. The production of red wines comes from lands in which the expression of Pinot Noir is the most intense.

Buying a wine marked Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan guarantees you, through very strict specifications, the promotion of the link to the territory and a preserved environment.
